Family Violence Coordinating Councils, at both the state and local/circuit levels, provide a forum to improve the institutional, professional and community response to family violence including child abuse, domestic abuse, and elder abuse. Councils provide professional education and prevention; coordinate interventions and services for victims and perpetrators; and contribute to both the improvement of the legal system and the administration of justice.

Legal Aid Chicago provides free civil legal representation to residents of Chicago and Suburban Cook County (statewide for migrant and human trafficking) who have limited income or special legal needs in the following areas: Family & Safety, House & Apartment, Money & Debt, Work & Employment Rights, Health, Disability, Basic Needs, and Immigration.

ICASA is a not-for-profit corporation of 30 community-based sexual assault crisis centers working together to end sexual violence. Each center provides 24-hour crisis intervention services, counseling and advocacy for victims of sexual assault and their significant others. Each center presents prevention education programs in Illinois schools and communities.

(ICDVP) was established to foster uniformity in domestic violence and partner abuse intervention services throughout the State of Illinois, and create recognized professions of Certified Domestic Violence Professionals (CDVP) and Certified Partner Abuse Intervention Professionals (CPAIP) by setting standards to certify domestic violence and partner abuse intervention professionals and regulating the process of certification.
